During the July School Holidays, the Outpost Team hosted Lego Legends - Commotion in the City. Students from our different Outpost Schools came together in groups to collaborate and compete in Lego Builds, Designs and Challenges. By Susan Stopforth

The Lego Legends Holiday Program at TSH supports a student’s social and emotional development by offering positive and meaningful play experiences. Using the evidence-based and popular Lego Based Therapy approach designed by neuropsychologist Daniel LeGoff, students interact with one another whilst playing with Lego. Students collaborate and problem solve together to design, explore and build Lego models.

Collaboration at its Best: In our Lego Legends Holiday Program, students come together in smaller, facilitated groups. These groups provide the perfect setting for students to collaborate, problem-solve, negotiate, and share experiences. It's an environment where teamwork and camaraderie builds and develops.

Roles that Empower: Throughout the program, students take on different roles: builder, supplier, and engineer. These roles empower students to actively participate in the process. Everyone has a vital role to play, and by helping each other out, they learn the value of cooperation and support.

Communication Development: As students immerse themselves in Lego building, communication builds naturally. They talk through instructions, express their creative ideas, and engage in meaningful conversations. It's an opportunity for them to articulate their thoughts and connect with their peers.

Boosting Confidence: With each completed project and conquered challenge, students experience a boost in confidence. The sense of accomplishment and mastery over their creations promotes a belief in their abilities.

The Lego Legends Holiday Program fosters friendship, and skill development one brick at a time.  It’s an opportunity for our students and families to come together in the holidays and build a shared experience.
