Family surveys

Telethon Speech & Hearing provides private speech pathology services. We asked families who used the services from January to May 2023 for feedback through an online survey. Approximately 20% of the families (54 families) have given us feedback through the survey.

 

Overall, 92% of the families rated the services they received from the staff at Telethon Speech & Hearing Excellent or Very Good. The rest rated Good. No one rated as Fair or Poor. Other key findings include: (based on the responses from families who were receiving services at the time of survey):

  • 90% of families indicated the TSH Speech Pathology services were meeting their/their child's needs.

  • 95% of families reported that they were satisfied with the progress that their children were making through the clinic.

  • 98% of families felt the speech pathologist was approachable and professional.

  • 95% of families felt the speech pathologist was knowledgeable in the area that their children needs support.

  • 95% of families felt the speech pathologist supported their understanding of speech and/or language development in a way that allowed them to facilitate in their children's development at home.

  • 95% of families felt the appointment times they got for their children were timely.

Families have offered suggestions and raised issues. We take all feedback seriously and our Leadership Team has been working on responding to the suggestions.

 

Our current focuses include:

  1. Addressing waitlist times: A new waitlist form has been developed and implemented, which will allow us to gain more information around family needs and improve our triaging. We are also looking at different service delivery models to address the waitlist.

  2. Ongoing therapy services during extended leave periods: We are looking at options to offer families ongoing therapy services if their regular therapist will be away for an extended period. If you have any concerns around continuity of services please let us know.

  • “TSH truly feels like a community and I have nothing but great things to say about it! All the staff are wonderful and amazing to deal with.’’

  • “The staff are always friendly and welcoming from the moment we step in the door. They take the time to learn who you are and it is a great feeling. The speech pathologist is amazing and I feel that she goes above and beyond any expectations that I may have had. We really appreciate everything TSH has done for us.’’

  • “We have been very impressed with both the professionalism and the support at TSH Speech. Having visited a few other speech sessions, TSH does not even compare. Our experience at TSH exceeded our expectations and has proven to be a superior service.”

 

 

Ensuring our centre delivers quality services is an ongoing process and we encourage all families to be part of this process.
